A Place Just for Teens
The Algonquin Area Public Library District serves teenagers in a library setting, however we would like to spotlight other nonprofit organizations in McHenry County that provide unique services to teenagers too.
Warp Corps

Warp Corps was founded by a local United States Marine Corps veteran and his family. Warp Corps is a collective of activists working to combat our nation’s suicide and substance use disorder epidemic. Their mission is prevention through community engagement, so there is always something going on there from art programs, music jam nights, to skateboarding events.
The Break

The Break was founded by a group of Crystal Lake South High School students who felt that the area had nothing to offer for teenagers. Their mission is to provide adolescents and young adults a safe and stimulating environment for connecting, having fun, and finding acceptance among peers and adults in the community.
Youth and Family Center of McHenry County
3430 W. Elm Street, McHenry, IL 60050
The Youth and Family Center (aka YFC) exists to ensure empowerment and growth for both youth and their families. They provide tons of after school programs to grades 6-12. YFC is unique in this list because they focus heavily on bilingual & Hispanic services.
