Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen
is a gripping story about a young girl struggling with her life. The book follows Ruby, a teenage girl whose mother has left her to fend for herself. The situation doesn’t work out well and she ends up living with her sister and her husband. This is Ruby’s story about finding where her home and heart lie. It makes you rethink everything you have taken for granted, as other people don’t have that luxury.
I also liked how the novel had romance intermixed throughout the story-line. Sarah Dessen is a great author if you like different genres mixed together. If you like Lock and Key make sure to check out her other books as well.
